In the ongoing effort to help Bloomfield residents after the storm, Nick Joanow has been on the streets of Bloomfield on a daily basis.
“On Ernst Road there are still about 14 homes that don’t have power. People are frustrated, to say the least,” Joanow told Patch on Friday afternoon. “There’s a woman with three children on Huck Road who hasn’t had power since the storm. Her power lines are connected to a telephone pole in the backyard and [PSE & G] can’t get a cherry picker back there. This morning I was at both locations.”
Joanow said the woman’s neighbors were able to set up space heaters in her home, using extension chords connected to their own electricity.
This just in from Bloomfield councilman Nick Joanow, and No Broad Street Cell Tower: T-Mobile has withdrawn its application to erect a cell phone tower on Broad Street.
Joanow forwarded this email to his supporters. It was originally sent from the No Broad Street Cell Tower Group.
Mr. Pryor, T-Mobile Lawyer has notified the Bloomfield Zoning Board that they have withdrawn their application without prejudice. Enclosed is the letter submitted to the Bloomfield Zoning Board.

Bloomfield can recycle in style with new recycling containers in the town’s public spaces. Bloomfield Department of Public Works, in partnership with the Bloomfield Recycling Committee, has launched a new, cost-free public space recycling program.
There may be a new addition to the Bloomfield skyline near the intersection of Bay Ave. and Broad St., and some nearby residents are concerned about the proposed change.
According to the Zoning Board of Adjustment’s agenda planned for Thursday night, the second order of new business will be to discuss the approval of a 120-foot cell phone monopole by T-Mobile Northeast, LLC. at the Brookside Garden Center. The owners of the property, O’Boyle Realty, will no doubt receive some sort of compensation for placing the monopole on that site.
